How Time Is Wasted In The Internet

How long are you online at Facebook, Twitter, YouTube or any of your favorite websites? Do you often check your e-mails from time to time or do you spend hours of your time reading non-sense posts and articles in the internet. No matter how much time you do things in the internet, there will be an instance when your time is wasted doing non-sense things. So, how do we determine if what your are doing is a waste or not. Here are some time-wasters in the internet: 1. Reading your e-mails more than twice a day. Unless you have a very busy e-mail inbox, you don't actually need to open your e-mail and read it more than twice a day. 2. Scroll-up. Scroll-down. When you are browsing Facebook or Twitter or any other social-networking sites and you are just scrolling-up or down, you are wasting your very precious time. 3. Video streaming or music streaming to the max. This ain't a time-waster if you do it at a minimum. Good for entertainment but if you are already spending your day listening to the same songs, then better do something else. 4. Reading spam e-mails. Spam e-mails are just as worthy as the candy wrapper. It's a waste of time when you read one. 5. On-line Window Shopping. You might disagree with me on this one but I think you should search the internet when you are looking for something and not surfing the net because you need to buy something. -- see the difference? 6. Fun stuff. I believe that everyone should have a laugh at least once a day but do not overspend internet hours checking out hilarious stuff. 7. Chatting galore. Communication is very important in our daily lives but if you realize that the conversation is going nowhere, then you might want to stop it and continue some other time. 8. Showbiz hearsay. Show business is suppose to entertain us, hearsays are not. 9. Reading everything. Believe it or not, you don't have to read everything just to understand something. If you are a scan-reader, just a few lines in a paragraph will be enough to understand the message. 10. Spending more time in the internet than sleeping. Some people would stay online for hours just for nothing. Remember that you are required 8 hours of sleep to stay healthy. I am quite guilty on some of the points here. Internet is a very useful tool if used wisely so is time. Just keep the balance between everything, stay healthy and as much as possible - avoid the time wasters posted above. :)
