"Dreams do come true." This is a cliched quote one can easily find from novels, blogs, and any material. Surely, a lot of people dream of having a worry-free life, and it includes being economically-efficient. On the contrary, though, many people also find it hard to put their dreams into fruition, because they think that they lack the ability to do so. However, the Truly Rich Club is different, as its members have found the right place-or rather, the right person, in guiding them towards the road of success.
This person is Bo Sanchez, the Preacher in Blue Jeans. An intelligent, open-minded, and a spiritually-inspired man, Eugenio Isabelo Tomas Reyes Sanchez Jr., or simply "Bo", was born in July 11, 1966 in Caloocan City to parents Eugenio and Pilar Sanchez. Bo started his educational years from various schools such as Stella Maris College, University of San Carlos-Boys, St. Joseph's, Claret High School, and Ateneo De Manila University, where he took up AB Philosophy. At a young age of 13, he commenced his first talk one Friday on a group of adults in a prayer meeting, thanks to the support of their prayer group leader, Aida. It was then when he began being an instrument of inspiration for others, wherein he found himself unable to stop from preaching-he recognized the need to become an "Aida" for other people, where he seeks to support them, too, by equipping them with the spiritual knowledge and guidance.
After almost 30 years of preaching, his talks generally aims to build people's self-esteem and help them realize how to see themselves the way God sees them, as well as to guide people raise their financial literacy and teach them the right theology and psychology towards money. With these goals, he became not only the Preacher in Blue Jeans, but "a person who helps others fulfill their dreams" as well. Bo is highly reputed in the field of entrepreneurship, with Truly Rich Club as his vantage point. He involves himself in small business and real estate not only for his family's needs and various projects, but also for the growth of more micro-entrepreneurs among his countrymen. Realizing that one of the causes of today's poverty rate is the product of people's low financial I.Q. on subjects such as debt-management, saving, investing, and business, he engages in teaching and writing about financial literacy.
One of Bo's teachings include creating the dream team. As on of the Truly Rich principles say, "Nothing great can be accomplished without a team. Even Jesus had a team." With this, Bo has affiliated with Gawad Kalinga and other groups that work for the poor. He has also formed the Kerygma Family, a virtual community that receives loads materials intended for spiritual and personal growth. In another light, he has started the Catholic Filipino Academy for parents who want to teach their children at home. He is also the founder of Anawim, a special home for the abandoned elderly and the poorest of the poor, and Shepherd's Voice, a media group that produces the widest read inspirational literature in the country. He is also the man behind the establishment of the Light of Jesus Community and the Light of Jesus Counselling Center.
With all of his efforts in helping the community, it is not at all surprising that Bo Sanchez is nationally well-reputed. On 46, he has authored 31 bestselling books (8 Secrets Of The Truly Rich, My Maid Invests in the Stock Market...and Why You Should, Too!, You Can Make Your Life Beautiful among others of his books), and published eight magazines. He also has a Sunday television show on IBC 13 (8:00 AM - 9:00 AM), and on cable channels such as ANC, TV Maria, and M&L. In line with this, he also has a daily radio program on Radio Veritas from Monday to Saturday; and a daily internet show called www.preacherinbluejeans.com, joined with other preachers from the Light of Jesus. He is also an international speaker as he travels around the world. For the record, he has spoken in 14 countries, including 38 cities in North America. Some of his accomplishments include him being one of The Outstanding Young Men (TOYM for 2006), and the Serviam Award given by the Catholic Mass Media Award for his exceptional lay service to God. Bo is currently living in Manila, Philippines, with his loving wife, Marowe, and their sons Benedict and Francis.
